General Questions About Selling My Diamonds and Jewelry Online

I’m nervous about selling my diamonds and jewelry on-line.

Is it safe to mail my diamonds and jewelry?

Any method of shipping, FedEx, UPS or USPS offer tracking numbers and insurance for high value items, it is a rarity to have a package misplaced through any shipping method when it is insured and traceable.  When shipping jewelry, make sure that your items are packaged properly and they don’t rattle inside the package.

How will I get paid?

Once you accept our offer we will overnight you a check, you will receive your check between 10:30 am and 12:00 pm the next business day or a bank wire transfer is available.

Can you give me an exact price before I mail my diamonds and jewelry?

Before you mail your item(s) we will be able to provide a pre sale estimate.  This is the closest way we can get to an exact price before we view an item. 

Do you provide appraisals?

We do offer written appraisals for insurance or estate purposes, however an evaluation of your item for purchase is provided and no charge.

Can I speak with an appraiser?

You can call one of our appraisers at 800-747-7552 if you have any questions.  Once your item is received, one of our appraisers will call you after your item is reviewed to give you an offer.

Do you buy costume jewelry?

At this time we are not purchasing costume jewelry.

Do you buy from jewelry stores, dealers, pawnshops, lawyers or banks?

Yes, any size lot or grouping is considered. 

Do you purchase estate jewelry?

Our expertise on antique and estate jewelry is known in the trade throughout the United States and Europe.  We participate in the famed Las Vegas Antique and Watch show as well as the multiple Miami Beach antique shows every year. 

What are you buying right now?

We are currently in the market for single diamonds that weigh one carat or more as well as antique jewelry.  We specialize in natural fancy color diamonds, diamonds over two carats in size and signed pieces

FAQ About Selling Diamonds

What is the difference between an appraisal and a certificate?

An appraisal is a written document from a jewelry store or jewelry appraiser.  A certificate is a written document from a non biased third party. The three most internationally recognized are International Gemological Institute (IGI), Gemological Institute of America (GIA), European Gemological Laboratory (EGL).

Why do you prefer a GIA certificate?

A certificate from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the laboratory that has the most regulated and strict standard within the trade.  You can take a diamond with a GIA certificate anywhere in the world and the grading of the diamond would not be disputed.

Do I have to send the original certificate?

Please send any original certificates along with your ring, that way you don’t have to ship them at a later date.

What if my diamond doesn’t have a certificate or appraisal?

We have three Gemological Institute of America graduate gemologists on staff that will be able to do all grading and appraising of any jewelry you may have.

What kind of watches are you buying?

We are purchasing high quality watches such as Patek Philippe, Cartier, Rolex, Vacheron Constantine and other complicated watches.

Do you purchase watches that need repair?

We do purchase high quality watches that are in need of repair, our purchase price is going to reflect the amount and cost of such repairs.

Do you need the box, papers and extra links?

Having the box, papers and extra links will increase the value of the watch, so it is always helpful to send everything at once. Paper Money and Coins

What kind of paper money and coins are you buying?

We are currently in the market for quarters and dimes minted prior toand including 1964.  We are purchasing United States paper money, please forward a photograph front and back of your bill for a pre sale estimate.
